The Splendors of Ancient Egypt tour is led by Dr. Lanny Bell. Bell has a Ph. D. in Egyptology. He has taught Egyptology at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, Brown University, and Columbia University. His publications include a chapter on Luxor Temples in Temples of Ancient Egypt, consultant work for National Geographic Magazine, and several documentaries including Egypt: Quest for Eternity and Mummies: Tales from the Egyptian Crypts. <br />

The Splendors of Ancient Egypt archaeological study tour explores various archaeologically significant sites along the Nile River. The tour includes exploration of Cairo; visiting the site of Tanis; traveling into the Faiyum Oasis to the site of Meydum and the collapsed Hawara Pyramid; and extensive exploration of the east and west banks of Thebes. The tour also includes a five-day cruise on the Oberoi Philae that visits various important temples and museums. Cost for The Splendors of Ancient Egypt is $6585. This fee includes international group airfare from New York and flights within Egypt. This fee also includes accommodations, most meals, tips, and tour transportation. This fee does not include passport fees, visa fees, airport departure taxes, excess baggage charges, insurance, laundry, or beverages. <br />

Internal flights for the tour are by Egyptair. Surface travel is by tour bus. The cruise will be on the Oberoi Nile Cruiser Philae. All accommodations are in twin-bedded rooms with a private bath.
